I Architectural Intervention, West End, Fremantle November 2003

The project was concerned with the intervention of Italianate Victorian architectural facades with coloured monochrome shaped canvas panels and styrofoam inserts. The project was based around the 19th century architecture of the historic West End, in Fremantle Western Australia. This site has a unique and large collection of buildings built in the 1890's. The coloured inserts(shaped stretchers) would fit into the architecture so as to leave the fabric of the buildings undamaged, and offset the aesthetic of the facade. Preparation for this project commenced in late 2002 and culminated in the Fremantle Festival in late 2003. The works were on public display for 3-4 weeks.
